"Jam, you in there?"
I turn my head to the side and start laughing, we had just started kissing again and it seems like fate just doesn't want us to get any further than second base.
"What the fuck! What?" Jameson slams his hand down on the bed next to my head.
"I'm sorry, Archer says you are supposed to come back out." Clay is the one talking through the door. Suddenly I need to get up. He is the one that was closest to the danger, the bomb. That last few minutes could have ended his life.
I push Jameson off me and pad my way to the door. When I swing it open Clay takes a step back, startled by the sudden movement. "Hey, you ok?"
"Hmm, yeah." Clay tries to smile, but the vein on the side of his neck is still pulsing a mile a minute.
"You sure? I mean that shit was intense. Jameson told me that you did that kind of stuff in the military?" I didn't want to pry if he didn't want me to pry, but I didn't want him to have to think about that trauma alone if he didn't want to either.
Jameson walks out the door bending low to kiss my neck once before he leaves the two of us in the doorway. "Hey, no men in my fucking room. You get it?" He says, slightly turned back in our direction.
I pull on Clay's arm and smirk, but Jameson isn't playing. I honestly feel like if I was in the room alone with Clay right now, he would lose his shit. It doesn't even matter if its someone he knows. If we are going to have a shot at whatever is going on between us than he is going to have to tone that shit down. I'm a grown ass woman if I want to be in the same fucking room as a man than I will. I'm a boxer for Christâs sake and most of the people I know are men.
I roll my eyes and let Clay go. The young prospect's eyes dart nervously between Jameson and me. When Jameson continues to walk away Clay takes a deep breath, but makes sure to take a step back from me.
"Don't worry about him, he's not going to do anything." I say, leaning against the door so he knows we aren't going inside.
"Ok, I don't want to make him mad. They already have it out for us prospects, because of all the little fuck ups, I don't know if Mark is going to make it."
"What? Why?"
"He let a man with a bomb strapped to his chest walk into the clubhouse. He was on watch, that is something he should have caught."
"Yeah, but the bomb was molded to his body. How was he supposed to know?"
"I hope they see it like that." I don't think I have ever seen someone so desperate to get into a club before and I went to a high school where there were three levels of cheerleader.
